BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Fredonia State women's soccer defeated the Elmira Soaring Eagles 4-0 on Tuesday. Senior midfielder
Melissa Cummiskey scored three goals, including two in the first half.
Sophomore forward Kaite Kleine had the fourth Fredonia State goal and two assists. Junior goalkeeper
Meaghan Meszaros made one save for her fifth shutout of the season.
The Blue Devils improved to 7-6-0 overall, while Elmira fell to 5-4-0.
Cummiskey notched her first goal for the season in the 8
th minute. Cummiskey overtook two Eagles defenders with a low shot after receiving a short through ball from Kleine.
Cummiskey's second goal gave the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead in the 11
th minute. She outraced a defender up the middle of the field, dribbled into scoring range, and shot from straightaway.

Reilly Condidorio were credited with assists on Cummiskey's third goal, which came in the 54th minute. Cummiskey ran down the ball in open space after her two teammates set her up with two quick passes.
Kleine's goal, her first of the season, came off a rebound in the 67th minute. She settled the ball which had deflected off the crossbar following a point-blank shot by senior midfielder
Emily Beh.
The Blue Devils had the advantage on the shots, 20-5. The Soaring Eagles edged on corner kicks, 6-4.
The Blue Devils will be back in SUNYAC action Plattsburgh 4 p.m. Friday at University Stadium.
