NEW PALTZ, N.Y. --- Fredonia State held an early lead but could not sustain it Saturday in a 68-49 SUNYAC loss at New Paltz.

Jaimie Warren resulted in a 4-2 lead, and a basket by
Anna Riley made it 6-5, but the Blue Devils (2-8 overall, 0-4 SUNYAC) fell behind and were unable to full recover.
The Blue Devils managed a 7-0 run late in the half on two free throws by
Becky Hebert, a three-pointer by
Jenna Austin, and a basket by Hebert, but still trailed 38-23 at intermission. They were unable to gain additional traction in the second half.
Hebert led the Blue Devils with 12 points while Warren 11 points and eight rebounds, Riley eight points and 11 rebounds, and
Liz Wierbinski nine rebounds.
Maliqua Fisher led the Hawks (6-5 overall, 4-0 SUNYAC) with 25 points on 10 of 11 fieldgoal shooting. She also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Alex McCullough added 11 points.
