ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State returned to action with an 82-47 loss Friday at Oneonta in SUNYAC women's basketball.
The Blue Devils struggled with their shooting and fell behind early. The Red Dragons built a 46-20 halftime lead with shooting accuracy: 18 of 29 from the field, including 5 of 8 on three-pointers.
Oneonta improved to 9-1 overall, 3-0 in the SUNYAC. Samantha Szkotak finished with 14 points to lead the Red Dragons. Erika Puffer came off the bench to add 13 points.
For the Blue Devils,
Marissa Cussins led with nine points.
Anna Riley added eight points and seven rebounds.
Grace Moore had seven points and a game-high three steals.
The Blue Devils are 2-7 overall, 0-3 SUNYAC heading into into another conference game, 2 p.m. Saturday game at New Paltz.
