Oswego emerges with low-scoring win over Devils

OSWEGO, N.Y. --- Oswego outlasted Fredonia State, 48-33, in SUNYAC men's basketball Saturday.

Adam Smith was Fredonia State's lone offensive threat. He finished with 19 points, on 8 of 14 shooting, and grabbed eight rebounds. Smith had 23 points and 14 rebounds Friday at Cortland.

The Blue Devils shot 32.5 percent as a team, a total helped by Smith's numbers. His teammates combined for 5 of 26 from the field. The Blue Devils were 0 of 8 from beyond the arc.

Oswego was led by Hayden Ward with 12 points.

The loss dropped the Blue Devils to 2-9 in the conference, 5-12 overall, while Oswego -- ranked No. 5 in the region -- improved to 14-3 overall and 10-1 in the SUNYAC.
