POTSDAM, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team dropped a 78-69 road game at Potsdam on Saturday. Despite a career-high 30 points on 14-of-18 shooting from
Adam Smith, the Devils could not pull out a victory.
Potsdam's Colin Peterson hit a three pointer 6:13 into the game to give Potdam a 7-6 lead that it would maintain throughout the contest.
The Devils would twice pull within five points midway through the second half. Up 51-46 with 10:40 left to play, Potsdam would go on an 11-2 run to take control of the game.
Smith also topped the Devils with seven rebounds.
Joseph Monahan added 15 points.
Kevin Mitchell dished out seven assists.
Potsdam (4-4 SUNYAC, 5-10 overall) was led by Anthony Williams with 16 points. Rob Duquette added 15 off the bench.
The Devils (2-6 SUNYAC, 5-9 overall) return home for a women's/men's doubleheader vs. Geneseo on Tuesday. Tipoff is 6 p.m. in Steele Hall.
