FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team used a big second half to come back and hand Brockport an 82-68 setback in men's SUNYAC basketball action on Tuesday.

The Devils scored 51 points in the half, while holding Brockport to just 30 points.

Brockport held a 38-31 lead at the break, the biggest lead of 12 points coming at the 11:54 mark, 20-8. Joseph Monahan led the Devils with 12 points at the break. Adam Smith added 10. Kyheem Green led the Golden Eagles with 11 first-half points.

The Devils opened the second half strong, going on an 11-1 run to take a 41-39 lead. Joseph Monahan nailed three free throws after being fouled on a three point attempt to tie the game at 39.

Kevin Mitchell gave the Devils their first lead at 16:40 with a layup to make it 41-39. 

After trading leads a two more times, the Devils would go on to maintain a lead of at least five points from the 15:00 minute mark through the end o the game. Branden McKenney was key in upping the Devils' lead, scoring nine of the Devils 11 points over a three-minute stretch beginning at the 7:27 mark.

Monahan finished with a game-high 26 points. McKenney added 16, while Adam Smith had 14 points and eight rebounds. Damien Goodwin II had 13 points off the bench.

Green had 21 points to pace Brockport. Jon Ivy added 13.

The Devils shot a robust 55 percent (31 of 56) from the field for the game. They held a 35-25 advantage in rebounds.

Brockport  falls to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in the SUNYAC.

Fredonia State improves to 5-7 and 2-4 in the SUNYAC. They travel to Plattsburgh and Potsdam this weekend.
