ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State's three-game winning streak drew to a close with a 3-1 non-conference loss Tuesday night at Elmira College.
The Blue Devils (6-9-0 overall) trailed 2-0 when
Mat Hehr scored his sixth goal of the season to cut the deficit in half. Bradley Nunn earned an assist on Hehr's goal, which came at 14:33 of the third period.
The Soaring Eagles (8-5-3) regained the momentum in less than a minute. Karl Linden's second goal of the game, and sixth of the year, made it 3-1 Elmira at 15:18.
Wes Consorti scored one goal and Darcy Vaillancourt had two assists for Elmira, who were outshot 28-27. Neither team had a power-play goal, the Blue Devils on six chances and the Soaring Eagles on five.
Jeff Holloway was credited with 24 saves in the Fredonia State goal. Darren McDonald made 27 saves for Elmira.
The Blue Devils return to the Steele Hall Ice Arena for their next four games, including games at 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday vs. Franklin Pierce.
