BOX SCORE

The Fredonia State women's soccer team took visiting Oneonta into extra time, before dropping a 2-1 game with 26 seconds left in the overtime.

Oneonta's Dana DiSimone took a pass from Nha Wright, and drew Fredonia State goalkeeper Kayleigh Forger (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) out of the box, lofting a shot over Forger's head that found the goal for the game winner.

Both regulation goals came in the first half. Oneonta opened the scoring at 11:26 as Melissa Guglielmo scored from 35 yards out on a shot that floated over the Forger's head.

The Blue Devils returned the favor in the 32nd minute. Madison Brown (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) had a half-field pass to Taylor Wingerden (Macedon/Palmyra-Macedon). Wingerden beat Oneonta goalkeeper Amy Lusby one-on-one, scoring just inside the corner post.

Oneonta held an 11-8 advantage in shots on goal, and a 27-20 advantage in shots. They had six corner kicks to Fredonia State's three.

Forger was credited with nine saves, allowing both goals. Lusby had seven saves for Oneonta.
