RESULTS
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Morgan Reisch and Sarah Ficarro were double winners as the Fredonia State swimming and diving team fell 128-115 to Division II Gannon on Friday.

The men's team fell 150-91.

Reisch claimed wins in the 200 freestyle and 200 butterfly, while Sarah Ficarro was the top diver off the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Lauren Schaefer finished second to Ficarro off the 3-meter board.

The women also received individual victories from Elizabeth Schake in the 50 freestyle and Jennifer Smith in the 500 freestyle. Smith also had a strong showing in the 1,000 freestyle, finishing second.

Head coach Arthur Wang noted a couple of other performances. "Not to be forgotten were the swims in the (200) breaststroke from Andrasek -- also a very good (200) IM -- and Schmidt in the 200 breast stroke. They kept us close enough for a shot to win in the end." Andrasek finished second in both events, while Schmidt was third in the breast stroke.

The men had a pair of individual swimmers claim firsts, and divers finish 1-2-3 off both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.

Mike Mitchell took the 1,000 freestyle with teammate Mike Hughson finishing second. John Estanislau won the 100 freestyle.

Ryan Fuller, John Rodman and Josh Croft finished first, second and third, respectively, in both diving events.

The Devils are done for the semester. Their next meet will be on Jan. 15 with Ithaca and Nazareth coming to Steele Hall.
