FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State senior forward Ryan O'Donnell (Orchard Park) came back for a fifth season of college soccer, and it paid off with a spot on the 2010 Men's Soccer All-SUNYAC team.

O'Donnell was chosen to the First Team. Five other Blue Devils were named All-SUNYAC -- four to the Second Team, and one to the Third Team.

A medical redshirt in 2009, O'Donnell opted for a fifth season at Fredonia State. He leads the team with seven goals and 18 points heading into the SUNYAC semifinals. The Blue Devils face Brockport at 1:30 p.m. in Oneonta.

It's the fourth time O'Donnell has received all-conference recognition. He was Second Team in 2006 and 2007, and Third Team in 2008. His 29 goals and 77 points ranked fifth all-time on current Fredonia State men's scoring lists.

Fredonia State's four Second Team selections are all seniors -- midfielders Eli Lubberts (Ontario/Wayne), John Grabowski (Middleport/Roy-Hart), and Peter Dagel (Rochester/Gates-Chili); and defender Stephen Ahern (Nottingham, U.K./Billbourough). The Third Team selection is junior defender David Thoin (Buffalo/St. Joe's Collegiate).

Lubberts, with five goals and 11 points, is making All SUNYAC for the third time, while Dagel is a four-time choice. The latter his one goal in SUNYAC play this season, yet it was a big one -- an overtime game-winner Oct. 22 vs. Brockport.

Grabowski, Ahern, and Thoin are first-time selections. Grabowski is second on the Blue Devils in scoring with four goals and four points. Ahern and Thoin have helped anchor a defense which has held teams to one goal or fewer in nine of the Blue Devils' 18 games.
