FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State swimming and diving teams opened their 2010 home campaign with impressive wins for both the men and women. The women cruised to a 173-68 victory. The men won 147-95.

For the women, the Devils featured a trio of triple winners. Morgan Reisch (Fairport / Fairport) took the 50-yard freestyle, the 200-yard backstroke and was a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay team.

Emily Ginty (Chenango Forks / Chenango Forks) made her mark in three freestlyles – the 100- and 500- individual races, and the 200-yard relay.

The men had a pair of triple winners. Mike Hughson (Albion / Albion) in the 1,000-yard freestyle, the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard medley relay.

John Estanislau (East Longmeadow / East Longmeadow) was a winner in the 200-yard breast stroke and 200-yard IM, as well as joining Hughson in the medley relay.

Head coach Arthur Wang sees big things from his squad this year. “I am pretty happy with where we are right now. We are hitting times that we usually take until mid-season to achieve. It was even more impressive considering we swam the night before at Niagara.”
