CINCINNATI, OHIO -- The Blue Devils dropped two non-conference matches Saturday by 3-0 scores.
The Devils fell to host Mount St. Joseph 22-25, 13-25, and 13-25 in the first match. In the second match against Mount Union, the Blue Devils lost by scores of 17-25, 20-25, and 22-25. Fredonia State's record fell to 17-10 overall.
In the first match against the Lions, senior Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph) had five kills and one block, senior Jenna Tatu (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) was credited with two blocks and four digs, and junior Jessica Ernstberger (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) had 13 assists, four digs, one ace, and one block.
Against Mount Union, Tatu had another strong performance with six kills, eight digs, and one ace. Ernstberger had a team-high 26 assists and sophomore Lindsey Olson (Portville) had six kills and five digs.
The Devils are off until Oct. 22 when they travel to the campus of Oswego State to take part in the last weekend of SUNYAC Pool Play, opening up against SUNY Geneseo at 5 p.m.
