(BOXSCORE)

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State Blue Devils held their own in the first half against the first-place Plattsburgh Cardinals, but fell short in the second half at Plattsburgh as Liz Radigan put home an unassisted goal to decide the match.
The Cardinals remained atop the SUNYAC standings with a 6-1-1 record and improved to 11-2-1 overall. The Devils fell to 3-4 in conference play and 8-7 overall.
Fredonia State held a 5-2 advantage in shots in the first half as neither team could find the back of the net. The Cardinals controlled the game in the second half, though, as the Devils were unable to get a shot off while the home team took 13 shots on freshman goalkeeper Kayleigh Forger (Rochester/ Churchville-Chili).
Forger was a victim of circumstance on the Plattsburgh goal. First, two Fredonia State players, both going for a loose ball, collided and that set up a Cardinal breakaway. Forger made the first save, then a second save, and was holding the ball before it slipped from her grasp. Radigan was standing nearby and tapped the ball into the net for her fifth goal of the season eight minutes into the second half. Forger was credited with making seven saves, six of them in the second half alone.
The Blue Devils remain on the road next weekend with a pair of SUNYAC contests against Brockport on Friday at 3 p.m. and Geneseo on Saturday at 1 p.m.
