NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- Fredonia State split two more matches Saturday at the New Paltz Hawks Invitational.
The Blue Devils (8-6) defeated Mount St. Mary's 25-11, 25-15, and 25-19 in the first of two Saturday matches. Kaitlyn Erdmann (Randolph) collected eight kills while Jenna Tatu (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) had seven kills and 11 digs. Also, Jennifer Newhouse (Amherst) added five kills; Brittany Lis (Lancaster) was credited with 17 assists and two digs; Jessica Ernsterberger (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) added 15 assists and two service aces, and Sarah Zureck (Lancaster/St. Mary's of Lancaster) had nine digs and two aces.
Clarkson defeated the Blue Devils 25-23, 25-18 and 25-18 in the second match of the day. Hannah Manning (Apalachin/Owego) led the Blue Devils with 11 kills, Zurech had 23 digs, and Tatu 10 kills.
The Blue Devils are back in action Friday in SUNYAC Pool Play at SUNY Geneseo.
