Taylor Wingerden's (Macedon/Palmyra-Macedon) goal in the 77th minute was all the offense in a 1-0 Fredonia State victory on Friday.
Senior
Julie LaPolla (Penfield) collected a loose ball in front of the Potsdam net and set up Wingerden for the game's only goal.
The Devils did maintain a heavy statistical advantage throughout the game. They out shot the Bears 16-5, with 15 of the shots coming in the second half. They also had a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman
Kayleigh Forger (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) needed only one save in earning the shutout. Caitlin Titus made six saves for Potsdam.
Fredonia State improves to 8-6 overall and 3-3 in the SUNYAC. Potsdam drops its record to 9-7, and 1-6 in conference play.
The Devils travel to Plattsburgh on Saturday.
