ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State volleyball team gained a pair of 3-1 victories over Medaille College and Capital University on Day 1 on the Purple and Gold Invitational at Nazareth College on Friday.
The Devils took the opener vs. Capital 26-24, 23-25, 25-23 and 25-22.
Chelsea Senn (Hamburg/Frontier) had 15 kills and three blocks and
Hannah Manning (Apalachin/Owego Free Academy) added 12 kills. Setter
Brittany Lis (Lancaster/Lancaster) had 49 assists, 26 digs and three service aces.
In the latter game, the Devils spiked Medaille by scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-15.
Lis added another 28 assists and nine digs.
Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph/Randolph) had 11 kills and three blocks.
Jenna Tatu (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) had nine kills and a pair of blocks.
Sarah Zureck (Lancaster/St. Mary's) had 13 digs and a pair of aces.
Danielle McNeil (West Seneca/St. Mary's) chipped in six digs and two aces.
The Devils improve to 15-6 after winning their seventh straight. They take on Geneseo and Thiel on Saturday.
