Amy Simon

Amy Simon was named head coach of women's lacrosse in June 2014. She inherits a program to which she has already made significant contributions.

Following her graduation in 2012 from Fredonia as the Blue Devils' all-time leading scorer, Simon served two seasons as graduate assistant under highly successful head coach Chris Case. The 2013 Blue Devils set a school record by winning 14 straight games and were ranked as high as No. 14 by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association; they finished No. 19 in the final IWLCA Division III poll. The 2014 team earned the program's second-ever NCAA Tournament berth -- the first came in 2012, Simon's senior year as a player -- and won its first-ever post-season game, a 9-8 home win over Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute. The Blue Devils were ranked No. 18 in the final 2014 IWLCA Division III poll.

As a player, Simon set school records for points with 286 and goals with 242. Both totals rank her among the all-time leaders in the State University of New York Athletic Conference. SUNYAC coaches selected Simon to their all-conference team all four seasons she played, while the IWLCA named her to the Empire Region team twice.

Simon had the IWLCA Academic Honor roll following her senior year, which coincided with her earning a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, with minors in Business Administration and Athletic Coaching. While serving as a graduate assistant for the Blue Devils, she completed her Master's of Business Administration -- General Management from the State University of New York at Oswego. Her experience also includes summer internships with the Syracuse University Men's Big Orange Basketball Camp and the Jim and Julie Boeheim Foundation.
