Carlson, a junior from LeRoy, N.Y., won the NCAA Region 4 men's 3-meter springboard diving championship in competition held Feb. 26 at SUNY Cortland. He earned a score of 549.45 points for 11 dives and claimed a spot at the NCAA Swimming & Diving championship meet March 16-19 at Greensboro, N.C. Carlson also finished third in the Region 4 men's 1-meter event Feb. 27, one sport behind senior Rafael Santiago, who also qualified for nationals, as did junior Megham Bartlett representing the Fredonia women.
