Desens, a junior from Hopewell Junction, N.Y., was a double winner at the Cortland Classic Invitational. She broke a 20-year-old Fredonia State school record in the discus with a winning toss of 43.0 meters (141 feet, 1 inch). She also won the shot put with a measurement of 12.10 meters (39 feet, 8.50 inches). Both throws are the best this season in the SUNYAC. Her discus measurement is the 16th best now in NCAA Division III.
