Matter, a sophomore from East Aurora, N.Y., and East Aurora High School, earned two national springboard diving certificates at the NCAA Division III meet held last week in Shenandoah, Texas. He was named as an All-American after finishing fourth off the 3-meter board -- the best-ever finish by a Fredonia man in the event -- with a score of 528.85 points. He also finished 16th off the 1-meter board to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.
