Below you will find the updated Open Swim hours of operation for the Fall 2025 semester. These hours will be in effect immediately.

HOURS OF OPERATION FOR THE NATATORIUM (STEELE HALL)
Open Swim for current students and members
Monday: 8:30-9:30am, 11am-3pm, 8-9:30pm
Tuesday: 8:30-9:30am, 8-9:30pm
Wednesday: 8:30-9:30am, 11am-3pm, 8-9:30pm
Thursday: 8:30-9:30am, 8-9:30pm
Friday: 8:30-9:30am, 11am-3pm
Saturday: 11am-3pm
Open Swim for current students, members, and community members
Saturdays: 11am-3pm
Cost is $3/day, and membership is not mandatory but there is no cost if you are a member.
Notes:
The last day of Open Swim for the semester is Friday, 12/19.
Open Swim will resume for the spring semester on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Essential Information about Open Swim
- Open Swim is available to all SUNY Fredonia students as it is supported by Student Services Fees.
- All patrons must present a photo ID and be signed in by a lifeguard at the natatorium's front desk.
- The facility opens 10 minutes prior to each session to allow patrons time to change.
- The facility closes 10 minutes after each session. All patrons must be out of the facility by then.
- Entering the water before the scheduled start time or without a lifeguard present is prohibited.
- Use of the diving well and diving boards is prohibited.
- Use of the starting blocks is prohibited.
- Lane lines are left in place during Open Swim.
- Personal items, including locks left on lockers, left in the facility overnight are subject to removal.
About our Lifeguard Staff
- SUNY Fredonia lifeguards are on duty whenever the pool is in use to ensure safe conduct and prompt emergency response.
- Cooperation with the lifeguard staff and safety procedures is required of all patrons.
- All of our lifeguards are SUNY Fredonia students. Hours of Operation are planned around their class schedules and the academic calendar and are subject to change.
