FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team staged a impressive second-half performance to defeat Potsdam 93-79 in a SUNYAC conference match up on Saturday.
The game began with Potsdam setting the pace, taking a 40-34 lead into halftime fueled by Parker Kelly who scored 20 points in the first half. Potsdam was hot from deep shooting 50% from behind the arc nailing seven triples.
Fredonia dominated the second half, outscoring Potsdam 59-39. Fredonia State shot 62.5% from the field in the second half, including 6-of-9 from three-point range.
Brandon Kulakowski led the charge for the Devils finishing with a game-high 27 points and nine rebounds.
Kai Woods dominated the paint adding 17 points and six rebounds.
Potsdam's shooting cooled in the second half as the Bears attempted 39 three pointers in the game. Fredonia State also received key contributions from
Aiden Proudfoot who added 13 points and three assists.
The win improved Fredonia State's record to 4-8 (2-3 SUNYAC), while Potsdam fell to 2-8 (2-2 SUNYAC). Fredonia State returns to Dods Hall on Tuesday, January 14 when they take on Morrisville with tip off scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
