ROCHESTER, N.Y. --
Calie Hudson was the No. 1 runner for the Fredonia State women Saturday at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
Hudson, a freshman, covered the 5,000-meter Roberts Wesleyan College Cross Country Trail with a personal-best 19:48.7. She finished 53rd overall in a field of 256 runners.
The next three Fredonia State runners were freshman
Amilcar Centeno, senior
Vanessa Ryhal, and freshman
Elizabeth Wagner. Centeno's time was also a personal best.
"The freshmen had a strong performance," Head Coach
Tom Wilson said. "Now we need to get healthy and focus on the second half of our season."
Cornell won the meet, comprised of teams from all three NCAA divisions, with 9 finishers in the top 10 -- and 15 in the top 20.
Next Saturday is the annual event for a former Blue Devil cross country and track & field student-athlete, Kara Hall. The memorial meet will be held on the Fredonia State campus.
