FREDONIA, N.Y. --
Martin Garza's three-point attempt at the buzzer was off the mark, as the Fredonia State men's basketball team dropped a 103-101 game to visiting Pitt-Bradford on Friday. Garza's shot was contested by a pair of Bradford defenders, and the Devils did not receive the benefit of a whistle on the close call. Garza would finish the night with a game high 30 points.
Bradford used a full court press to take control, jumping out to an early 11-2 lead. They would force 20 Blue Devil turnovers on the night.
The Panthers would lead the entire game. The biggest lead of 17 points came in the final minute of the first half, leading 53-36.
The Devils would use nearly the entire second half to whittle down the lead. After a three-point play by
Brandon Kulakowski, the score would be 101-100 with 1:00 showing on the clock.
Bradford missed its next basket, but a turnover by the Devils proved costly. After a dunk by Bradford on the turnover, the Blue Devils final attempt would fall short.
