NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's volleyball team fell in straight sets, 3-0, to New Paltz on Friday. The Hawks maintained a tie for second place in the SUNYAC, improving to 5-1, while the Devils fell to 2-4.
The Hawks won the sets 25-19, 25-17, and 25-17. New Paltz collected 43 kills compared to the Devils' 25.
Amaya Lewczyk led the Devils with seven kills.
Kourtney Krchniak continued her stellar play, topping the team with three aces while directing the offense to the tune of 22 assists.
Defensively,
Madeline Reid had a pair of blocks and
Gabrielle Sordetto had 10 digs.
Victoria Konicki had a game-high 14 kills for New Paltz.Â
The Devils now stand at 4-15 overall, and New Paltz improves to 16-2.
The Devils take on Oneonta on Saturday.
