FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State rallied from a two-goal deficit Friday en route to a 4-2 SUNYAC men's hockey victory over the Brockport Golden Eagles.

Jared Wynia (Calgary, Alberta) put in the game-winner at 5:52 of the third period as the Blue Devils improved to 3-3-3 in the SUNYAC and 8-6-3 overall.

Bryan Ross (Livonia, Mich.) scored into an empty net with 30 seconds remaining to complete a three-point game. In the process, he moved into a tied for seventh in the Blue Devils' all-time scoring list.

Brett Mueller (Queensbury) and Ben Waldman (Pittsford) had the other Blue Devil goals.

Ian Finnerty and Brandon Rothfuss scored the Golden Eagles, who fell to 2-6-1 in the SUNYAC and 6-10-2 overall.

Brockport took a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 17:08 of the first period -- although the puck actually occurred seconds earlier. With the Golden Eagles skating with a 5-on-3 advantage, a shot by Finnerty from near the right post touched off a celebration by he and his teammates. The officials, however, waved off the goal and let play continue.

With the Golden Eagles still gathered in their offensive end, Fredonia State's Bradley Nunn skated in alone but his breakaway shot was stopped by Brockport goaltender Oliver Wren. That led to a stoppage in play, a meeting by the officials, and the award of Finnerty's goal -- his 10th -- despite protests by the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils were still in the midst of killing off a five-minute major when Brockport scored a second power-play goal. Rothfuss delivered with a wicked slapshot from the top of the right face-off circle. It was his fourth goal of the season.

Fredonia State began its comeback when Mueller blocked a shot in the defensive end and scored on a breakaway at 6:06 of the second period. The unassisted goal was Mueller's second of the season.

Later in the second period, Ross set up the tying goal at 14:17 when he dragged the puck past a Brockport defender and fed Waldman as part of a 2-on-2 rush. It was Waldman's first goal of the year.

Ross scored his empty-netter with 30 seconds remaining shortly after Brockport hit a post while skating with an extra man. It was Ross's ninth goal of the season and his 126th career point, which ties him with Gary Masocco for seventh on the all-time scoring list.
