RESULTS
GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. -- The women's cross country team finished fifth among nine teams to open its 2011 campaign at the Daniel Walker Invitational hosted by Buffalo State on Saturday.

Senior Amanda Solly finished 14th overall in a time of 20:22. Edinboro University's Kacey Gibson set the pace with a time of 18:54 to lead her team to a first-place finish.

Four freshmen, Angela Richter (20:46, 21st), Amanda Cocchiara (21:17, 28th), Sarah Minchen (22:22, 42nd) and Sarah Rocco (22:23, 44th), rounded out the top five for the Devils. A total of 91 runners competed.

Next weekend, the team will play host to the Blue Devil Invitational.
