DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M. -- Former Fredonia State catcher Rob Herrmann began his first season of professional baseball this summer. The four-time all conference selection is catching for the first-place Las Cruces Vaqueros in the independant Pecos League.

Herrmann has seen action in 12 of 14 games, batting .333 (10 for 30), and has a .480 on-base percentage. Las Cruces currently sits atop the league with a 10-4 record.

In addition to his success at Fredonia State, Herrmann also played in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (2008), the Carolina-Virginia League (2009) and the New York State League (2010) while in college. He was named an All Star in the C.V.C.L. in 2009.
