FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Senior setter Brittany Lis (Lancaster, N.Y.) and three teammates have been named to the 2011 SUNYAC Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team.

In addition to making the West Division's First Team, Lis has also been selected as the division Player of the Year.

Senior libero Sarah Zureck (Lancaster, N.Y.) and junior outside hitter Lindsey Olson (Portville, N.Y.) also were First Team selections.

Senior opposite Jennifer Newhouse (Amherst, N.Y.) was selected to the Second Team.

Lis was a multi-dimensional player for the Blue Devils as well as a team leader. She was the starting setter as a freshman during the 2008 SUNYAC championship team and served as team captain her remaining three seasons.

Her 2011 season turned out to be her best statistically. She recorded 1,235 assists, third highest single-season total by a Blue Devil. She finished with 2,969 career assists, also third-best in program history. Defensively, she had 340 digs in 2011 and 1,200 over four seasons, the sixth-best total by a Blue Devil.

It was the third straight season Lis has been named West Division First Team. Ironically, it was the first time Zureck has received any All-SUNYAC honor, even though she has been named all-region twice and honorable mention All-American once by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Zureck broke two career school records during 2011. She leaves the program first all-time with 2,113 digs and 238 service aces. She had 621 digs and 69 aces during the season, fifth and third, respectively, on single-season record lists.

Olson and Newhouse were also recognized for the first time.

Olson recorded 394 kills, the third-best single season by a Blue Devil. She was sixth in the conference with 2.92 kills per game. She also had four matches of 20 kills or better, and topped out with 23 vs. Geneseo -- a school record for a four-set match and tied for fourth most in any match in school history. She also tied the school record -- also held by Zureck -- with 10 aces in a match.

Newhouse led the Blue Devils and was fourth in the conference with a .291 hitting percentage. She also had 82 block assists, second-most in program history. She also had one match of 20 kills.

The Blue Devils finished with the best SUNYAC Pool Play record in the West Division for the fifth straight season. They were 26-11 overall.
