Francis won his first collegiate cross country race, finishing 26.3 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor at Saturday's Fredonia Invitational. He covered the 6,000 meters in 19:47. Runners from Fredonia, Brockport, Cortland, and Oswego competed. Francis is a graduate of Dunkirk High School.
