A sophomore from Orchard Park, N.Y., Kuczewski pitched a seven-inning, complete-game shutout April 9 as the Blue Devils earned a split of their doubleheader with New Paltz. The right-hander allowed five hits, walked three, and struck out six in the 2-0 win. He improved his record to 3-2.
