A senior from Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Desens threw a personal best 43.99 meters in the discus at the St. John Fisher Classic on Saturday. Previously ranked No. 35 in the country in the event (41.39 meters), her improvement of 2.60 meters moved her up to No. 13 in the NCAA Division III rankings. Desens also threw 11.88 meters in the shot put and is ranked No. 22 nationally in the event.
