Hewitt won the 200-yard butterfly at the Blue Devil Invitational with both a school and pool record time of 1:56.36. The previous mark of 1:56.75 was set in 2006 by Noor El-Tahawy. Hewitt competed in seven other events -- three individual and four relays. Among the individual results, he finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (:53.98) and fifth in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:35.21). He was also part of the second-place 400 medley relay (3:40.43), third-place 800 free relay (7:28.68), fourth-place 200 medley relay (1:42.27), and fourth-place 400 free relay (3:20.67). He accounted for 80.5 team points of the Blue Devils' 576 team total, good for third place in the eight-team event.
