Hess, a junior, was the top finisher , placing 21st in a field of 277 competitors, as the Blue Devils finished eighth of 31 teams at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble at Oberlin, Ohio. Hess crossed the finish line in 26:01 on the wet and muddy 8-kilometer course.
