FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State men's hockey, women's and men's basketball, and women's and men's swimming and diving teams are at home this weekend.

The hockey team will meet the Morrisville State Mustangs in the annual Pink The Rink game. Tickets go on sale at 5:30 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m., one hour prior to the puck drops.

The Blue Devils, tied with Buffalo State for third place in the SUNYAC, are coming off home wins last weekend over Brockport and Geneseo.

"This is a playoff game for us," head coach Jeff Meredith said, "as were both games last weekend and all the games the rest of the way. I like the way that we are playing now from an energy and confidence standpoint. I think we have some momentum now that started in the second Neumann game and built and paid dividends last weekend."

The basketball teams also won twice each last weekend -- over Plattsburgh and Potsdam. This weekend, Oneonta visits on Friday (6 p.m. women, 8 p.m. men) and New Paltz on Saturday (2 p.m. women, 4 p.m. men).

The Blue Devil women, winners of three straight, came up on the short end when they faced the same two opponents on the road earlier the season.

"We have played everyone in the conference once," women's coach Donna Wise said. "Our goal in our rematch with Oneonta and New Paltz is to split our season series with them."

The Fredonia State men defeated Oneonta but lost to New Paltz in their earlier meetings this season.

"We got back to playing great team defense last weekend," men's coack Kevin Moore said. "We hope to build on that with two more games this weekend. The quality of competition from top to bottom in this conference is amazing and we're going to have to be at our best from here on out."

The swimming and diving team will be competing at home for the last time this season when Cortland visits at 1 p.m. Saturday.

"We would like to build momentum going into championships," head coach Arthur Wang said. "We will be recognizing our seniors for their contributions over their career."
