FREDONIA, N.Y. – Three Fredonia State players – two juniors and a freshman – have been selected to the 2011 SUNYAC All-Conference team in women's lacrosse.

Megan Mietelski was chosen as a First Team defender. Amy Simon was chosen as a Second Team attack, and Marissa Cussins as a Second Team midfielder.

Mietelski and Simon, both juniors, have been chosen All SUNYAC all three years they have played for the Blue Devils, while Cussins is one of four freshmen among the 26 players named to the two all-conference teams.

Team regularly against the opposing team's top scorer, Mietelski is seventh all-time in caused turnovers and third in draw controls on Blue Devil team lists. She is a two-time team captain.

Simon, also a team captain, has been the team's top offensive threat since her freshman year. This past season, she established new school career records for points and goals. She's also second all-time in draw controls.

Cussins was the Blue Devils' second-leading scorer in 2011. Her 40 goals were the third-most ever by a Fredonia State freshman.

The Blue Devils set a school record for wins in 2011 with a 12-5 overall record.
