The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:

An outstanding performer in both men's soccer and men's tennis, William Leslie earned eight varsity letters while at Fredonia State. A two-time captain of the soccer team, he was selected All SUNYAC and All New York State during the 1964 and 1966 seasons. In 1966, he was also named most valuable player of the Blue Devil soccer team. During his four-year career with the tennis team, Mr. Leslie played at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. In 1967 and 1968, he was named the team's MVP. For his exceptional play in two sports, Mr. Leslie was honored as the first recipient of the Joseph N. Keyser Outstanding Athlete of the Year award during the 1966-67 season. He earned a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Fredonia State in 1968 and a master's in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo in 1985. At the time of his induction, Mr. Leslie was working as an assistant professor in mathematics and computer science at Fredonia State.
