Chosen as SUNYAC 1997-98 SUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, Gebauer and fellow Hall of Famer Chris Hughey are the only Blue Devils to win the annual award. Gebauer finished as the fifth-leading scorer in program history with 1,177 points. He made an eye-popping 81 of 95 from the foul line in 1996-97, among the finest season in team history. Twice a team captain, he was SUNYAC First Team All-Conference after his junior and senior seasons. He was a member of the 1994-95 team which posted a 19-9 record and won the ECAC Upstate New York championship.
