A transfer from Nassau Community College, this talented center-defender was respected for his aggressive, physical play. As one of the team's premier players from 1971-73, Lawlor was instrumental in helping the Fredonia State men's soccer team secure the school's first-ever post-season tournament bid. A three-year starter, he was selected to both of the all-conference and All New York State teams each of his collegiate seasons. As a result of his skillful for play at stopper, the Blue Devils compiled a three-year record of 32-13-3. During that period, the Devils were crowned NAIA district champions and received three consecutive post-season tournament bids. He received a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Fredonia State in 1973, a master's from Ithaca College in 1975, and a doctorate from Temple University in 1981. At the time of his induction, he was an independent sales representative in Charlotte, N.C.
