The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:
An outstanding performer on the basketball court from 1927 to 1931, Kenneth Depledge played on the college's first-ever intercollegiate men's basketball team. A three-time captain and president of the men's basketball club, Mr. Depledge was given the responsibility for making the starting lineups and substitutions as well as related coaching duties during the 1931 season. In game accounts in the local newspaper, Mr. Depledge was cited for his "flashy footwork" and as a player who managed to control the game to his team's advantage. He was the team's leading scorer in 1930-31 on a team which posted an 11-6 record. To a great extent, it was Mr. Depledge and his teammates on the 1927 squad who laid the groundwork for what has evolved into a highly successful basketball program at Fredonia State. An Education major, he received his teacher's certification from Fredonia State in 1931 and worked for 35 years as a teacher before retiring from Cassadaga Valley Central School.
