A founding member of the men's track and field dynasty that won 20 consecutive SUNYAC outdoor championships beginning in 1977, Keith McFayden and his teammates also captured Fredonia State's first state title when the Blue Devils won both the indoor and outdoor championships the same year. One of the best 200-meter runners to wear the blue and white, McFayden's school record of 22.1 seconds in the 200 meters was sixth-best in school history when he was inducted. He also set a school record of 49.0 seconds in the 400 meters and was the 1977 SUNYAC outdoor champion in that event. He set school records in both the indoor and outdoor 440. He was one fourth of the 4x100 relay team that set a school record of 41.9 seconds and earned them a berth in the outdoor national championship meet. A transfer student from Monroe Community College, McFayden's two years with the Fredonia State athletic program included two seasons of competition with the men's soccer team. He was a starting member of the 1975 squad that finished 16-2-0 and won both the NAIA district and area championships. A 1977 graduate, he majored in Business and later earned an MBA in Marketing from Canisius College in 1984. He was a senior account executive for Kraft Foods in Buffalo, N.Y., and Cleveland, Ohio, at the time of his induction.
