The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:
Capping four seasons of award-winning performances with three All-America certificates his senior year, Jason Fairlee earned national recognition in 1993 with a first-place finishing in the outdoor javelin, fourth place in the indoor triple jump, and sixth place in the outdoor triple jump. Along the way, he set a school record in the new javelin (206' 8"). Team captain and team most valuable player both his junior and senior seasons, Mr. FairleeĀ also earned two conference and two state MVP awards. During his college career, he placed 32 times at SUNYAC championships and 24 times at state meets, holding the record for most points scored during a state meet 33 1/2). SUNYAC indoor and outdoor champions for all four seasons he competed, Mr. Fairlee's teams also won the indoor state titles in 1992 and 1993 and the outdoor state championship in 1993. He graduated in 1993 with a bachelor's in Biology before earning a doctorate in microbiology in 1998 from North Carolina State University, where he was working as a a graduate student researcher at the time of his induction.
