The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:
A transfer from Nassau Community College, this talented outside defender was respected for his aggressive, physical play. As one of the team's premier players from 1971-73, Mr. Lawlor was instrumental in helping the Fredonia State men's soccer team secure the school's first-ever post-season tournament bid. A three-year starter and letter-winner, Mr. Lawlor was selected to both the 1972 all-conference and All New York State teams. As a result of his skillful play on defense, the Blue Devils compiled a three-year record of 32-13-3. During that period, the Blue Devils were crowned NAIA New York-New Jersey district champions and received three consecutive post-season bids, finishing as high as sixth nationally. A 1973 graduate with a bachelor's degree in Music Education with a master's degree from C.W. Post in 1979, Mr. Lawlor was serving as a high school orchestra director in Sayville, N.Y., at the time of his induction.
