The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:
A transfer from the University at Buffalo, Giulio Colangelo was a prolific scorer and rebounder during his two seasons at Fredonia State. His scoring average of 19.3 points per game ranked him only second to All-America Chris Hughey in that category. Mr. Colangelo was so productive offensively that it took him just two seasons to rank among Fredonia State's all-time Top 10 scorers. A two-time All-SUNYAC performer, he led the Blue Devils in both scoring and rebounding during the 1987-88 and 1988-89 seasons. He was voted the team's most valuable player and was an Upstate New York ECAC Player of the Week recipient. Incredibly clever and effective in the low post, Mr. Colangelo was a model of consistency in and around the basket. His .597 field-goal percentage during the 1987-88 season stood as one of the best seasons in team history. Seven years after he graduated, he still ranked among Fredonia State's Top 10 in six statistical categories. An unselfish player with a great work ethic, Mr. Colangelo captained the team during the 1988-89 season. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1989 and owned The Wallpaper and Paint Shoppe in Lewiston, N.Y., at the time of his induction.
