The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:

From 1977-1981, Gail Hunter was an outstanding athlete in women's basketball, volleyball, and track & field. During this period, she earned 11 varsity letters, For two years, she was the captain of the the basketball team. During her junior and senior years, she was elected captain of the volleyball team. In her junior year, as as result of her outstanding play, she was named to the NYSAIAW Volleyball All-Star team. In track, Gail qualified for the NYSAIAW state meet in the 100 meters, the 200 meters, the 440 meters, the 1,600-meter relay, and the long jump. She set a school record in the long jump (15 feet, 11 3.5 inches) during the 1981 season. In 1981, she qualified for two events in regional competition. In her senior year, she was honored as the Agnes I. Michaels Award winner as Fredonia State's outstanding female senior scholar-athlete. She graduated from Fredonia State in 1981 as a double major -- Business Administration and Theatre Arts. She added a juris doctorate from the University of North Carolina in 1986. At the time of her induction, Ms. Hunter was working as an attorney for Schweppe, Krug & Tausend in Seattle, Wash.
